Last week we talked about the negative thought patterns we believe and speak about ourselves. I asked you to pay extra attention to the thoughts you think and the words you speak about yourself. I encouraged you to write them all down and keep a running log.
The scriptures teach us to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewal of our minds.
Why, because then and only then will we be able to discern the will of God. If we believe lies about ourselves, we will never be able to hear the voice of God clearly and discern His good, pleasing, and perfect will for our lives. This in turn will hinder our ability to live out our purpose.
You see my friends, it is VITAL that our thoughts be in line with the truth. Of course this goes for everything else in our lives, but it all starts with what we believe about ourselves.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)
The scriptures also teach us to take every thought captive and make it obey Christ. Jesus is The Truth so when we hand Him our thoughts the light of Truth (Jesus) dispels the dark ones, and they are transformed.
“…we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
So how do we do this? The formula is Repentance, Rebuking, and Blessing.
1 - Repentance - I envision taking hold of the negative thought or word with my hand and handing it to Jesus while I say,
“Jesus, forgive me for thinking or saying these words about myself.
2 - Rebuke - I take a hold of this thought or these words (name the thought or words) and hand it to You.
I rebuke it and break every agreement that I’ve made with it in the name of Jesus.
3 - Blessing - I know that I am Your daughter, and You are blessing my mind and lips with the Truth. I receive Your blessing. Amen”
I encourage you to take out the list you created in the last week and do this for every negative thought and word you wrote down.
Pay attention to your thoughts and words in the coming week. Notice if they’ve changed or if some of them have recurred.
Keep the list going.

We will take this subject a little deeper next week.
Praying for you,
Starting the Journey from Insecurity to Self-Confidence.
We all have hang ups about ourselves. We believe lies that have either been spoken over us or we’ve conjured up as a result of negative life experiences.
We believe things like,
I’m not smart enough
These thought patterns create insecurities that keep us paralyzed and as a result we don’t fulfill our purpose in life, or we fulfill it minimally. If you want to begin the process of breaking free from insecurity you have to become aware of what is going on in your head, first. What are you thinking about yourself and what are those thoughts causing you to speak about yourself?
These little segments are about Freedom. It doesn’t do you any good to just read the post, listen to the video and then do nothing. That’s why I like to give you ideas as to how you can help yourself.
With that said, I’d like to give you an assignment. In the next week pay extra attention to the thoughts that run through your mind about yourself and pay attention to the things you say about yourself.
Write them all down in a running log for now. Don’t over think it just wrote them down.
Next week we’ll talk about how you can start the journey out of insecurity into self-confidence.
Get to work!
FREEDOM FRIDAY - How To Make Space For Silence In Your Life Pt. 1 & 2 / How To Create A Sacred Space In Your Home
I know we’re all busy and creating the space for silence can be tough. I encourage you to be intentional about it, set boundaries with those around you, and get creative as to how you can make it happen. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you think outside the box.
One of the things that helps me is to have a sacred space in my home where I can pray, worship, read, and study.
Watch the first two videos for more details and the last one to see two sacred spaces I've created in my home.
I suggest having the following things handy in your sacred space.
Pen, pencil, highlighter
Diffuser (I love to diffuse Frankincense. It reminds me of the incense used at church)
Make your space comfy and enticing. Decorate it with your favorite colors and things.
